|Dear MA Families & Friends,
This Giving Tuesday we wanted to take the time to thank you for all that you have given to our school. Without you, we would not have been able to come this far! Whether you are volunteering to help with hot lunches, or donating to the Annual Appeal, everything you have given to the school is a tremendous support to our MA community, and we want you to know how much we appreciate you!
It is still early in the school year, but we already have some great accomplishments on the development side thanks to you!
- 5 New Monthly Donors registered to be part of the 50th Anniversary Club
- 2 Leadership Circle Teams pledged to donate/raise $5,000 each
- $7,500 in sponsorship pledged for the 50th Anniversary Events.
Our 50th year is going to be the best year yet! Thank you, MA Community.
If you would like to participate in #GivingTuesdayCA, there are many ways to support our school:

Holiday Concert is next Tuesday, Dec. 5!
Join us next Tuesday for our Holiday Concert – it’s a spectacular show that features performances from students in Casa through Junior High. There will be no after-school extended hours for Casa, Elementary and Junior High this day so that the teachers and staff can accompany the students to Forest City Community Church – 3725 Bostwick Rd. If you haven’t returned your RSVP form to the school, please do, so we can gauge how many students will be picked up before or after the performance.
Phys. Ed updates
The Year 4 students had Phys. Ed on Pyjama Day… and it turned out to be a perfect day for them to practice their bone building skills. As part of their class the students were required to put together five skeletons and could only use one of the students for help. Fortunately, Elliot wore the perfect PJs to school!
Congratulations to both the boys and girls teams on finishing up the season with some strong play. The boys finished third in both their tournaments this year, while the girls lost a nailbiter three games to two in the playoffs. Next up is Senior Basketball. Practice times and game schedule will be posted on the Junior High website.
The senior hockey team has started their season off with two wins. The team which is made up of hockey players from AAA to House League is always one of the most fun and well attended sporting events at the school. Next game is 8 am tomorrow – Wednesday, November 29 – at Stronach Arena against Matthews Hall.
Upper Elementary Volleyball Intramurals
Students interested in participating in a volleyball intramural will have the opportunity to represent the school on December 6 for the boys and December 7 for the girls in a tournament at Carling Heights. The winning teams from the in-school tournament will receive more details soon.
Upcoming climbing field trip
The students in Year 5 will go to Junction Rock Climbing on Friday, December 1, from 9:30-11 am.
Westmount Casa snow fun
Our Westmount Casa students took to the yard with excitement this past Wednesday morning with the arrival of our first snow! It didn’t last long but they sure made the best of it.
Pakistan lesson in Casa 3
Casa 3 is so grateful to Hadi’s parents, Masooma and Rudha, who visited our classroom and delivered a wonderful presentation on Pakistan! The students enjoyed trying on some traditional clothes and tasting some homemade cooking from Pakistan.
PJ Day photos
Thank you to everyone who donated loonies and toonies for PJ Day last week. The students (and staff!) loved being able to enjoy the day in the comfy pyjamas; some students even enjoyed a breakfast related snack – waffles!
