Support for education choice in London grows long-term with new Endowment Fund
Montessori Academy of London introduces new Endowment Fund to support school initiatives and financial aid for students.
March 6, 2018 – Montessori Academy of London (MA) took a big step to secure the long-term development of the school with the Montessori Academy Endowment Fund through London Community Foundation.
The school announced the new endowment fund at its Annual General Meeting on Monday night. The endowment fund will help support charitable purposes that benefit students registered in the school – including financial aid for students who qualify for the school’s financial support program. The Ann Marie Harding Financial Support program offers approximately $100,000 in tuition support every year. This year alone, 29 students received financial support.
MA established the fund to celebrate two milestones: the school’s 50th anniversary in 2018 and the retirement of Margaret Whitley, former school Director – and one of its first students. The $10,000 raised for the Margaret Whitley Tribute Fund during the school’s 2017 Annual Campaign served as the initial investment into the fund, which will benefit the school – and its students – for many years.
Tina Sartori, Executive Director of MA, told the attendees of the AGM: “Holding this fund with the London Community Foundation, an organization which has a solid philanthropic investment reputation in our city gives MA the opportunity to present itself to the broader giving community.”
