Kitchen Support Staff (Contract) – 2 positions
Montessori Academy of London (MA) provides something unique in London: high-quality traditional Montessori education that truly puts the needs of the child first. To support our students’ daily program, MA is seeking two individuals to facilitate our lunch program at 2 locations: one of our CCEYA licensed sites (“Waterloo”) and our Elementary location. Both opportunities are part-time roles, maternity leave coverage contracts. The Waterloo CCEYA location also has potential for supply work to cover staff absences.
Food Handlers Certificate and Vulnerable Sector Police Screening are required for both roles; candidates willing to take Safe Food Handling training before the start date will be considered (and reimbursed for training upon signing of contract).
Terms of the Contracts
- Waterloo – September 2021 to April 2022, with potential of an extension
- Elementary – September 2021 to April 2022
For the Waterloo CCEYA location, candidates must have Early Childhood Educators Diploma, Medical Examination/Immunization Records, and Standard First Aid and CPR-C.
The ideal candidate for either opportunity has:
- Food Handlers Certificate; experience serving, plating food.
- Maturity, responsibility, a friendly demeanor, compassion and patience.
- Excellent communication skills, organized
- A collaborative spirit
- Experience working in a daycare or school environment
- A Vulnerable Sector Police Check Screening
For Waterloo CCEYA location only – the above as well as:
- Early Childhood Education Diploma is required
- Medical Examination/Immunization Records, and Standard First Aid and CPR C
Responsibilities
Waterloo Kitchen Support Staff
- Follow CCEYA requirements for serving a lunch program five days a week
- Serve, plate food; kitchen cleanup duties
- Act as supply staff in classrooms from time to time
- Provide a caring, nurturing environment for students, both toddler and preschool ages, in keeping with the Montessori philosophy and CCEYA requirements
- Supervise pre-school aged or toddler children to ensure their safety and well-being
Elementary Kitchen Support Staff
- Serve, plate food; kitchen cleanup duties five days a week
- Shop for lunch and kitchen supplies as required
- Liaise with Receptionist for planning of menu with Growing Chefs! Ontario
