Learning Support Teacher – Elementary (Grades 4-8)
Montessori Academy of London seeks an enthusiastic, highly qualified applicant to fill an Elementary Learning Support Teacher (LST) opportunity within our well-established school for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Responsibilities
The primary role of the Learning Support Teacher is to interpret assessment documentation; collaborate with teachers, parents, psycho-educational services; aid with student transitions to high school; work with students and assist classroom teachers on how to best support individuals given the guidelines of their IEP.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should have:
- Special Education Qualifications
- Experience teaching children – preferably Elementary level.
- Montessori Teaching Certification – preferable but not essential.
- Maturity, responsibility, a friendly demeanour, patience.
- A passion for working with children and encouraging their growth and independence.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
