Parent Talk: “The Power of Attunement”: Attunement is a game changer in parenting and other relationships. In this workshop, Julia discusses what ‘Attunement’ is, why it’s so pivotal in parenting and how to have more of it.

Thank you, MA-zing volunteers!

The MA community is a strong one. Parents, Staff, Alumni and Community Members have donated so much of their time this year to make sure we can still provide all the wonderful ‘extras’ our community enjoys.
There are so many volunteers working hard in the background every day. As you know, the school is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. These special individuals give their time, heart and skills to the school. The Board meets once a month, but there are many more meetings and work behind the scenes between Board Meetings. This year the MA-Zing Circus – 55th Anniversary Gala involved so many volunteers! Parent volunteers and staff members on the planning committee gave their time to help with the special event – from planning, set up, running the event, and cleaning up after the celebration. We were fortunate to have Alumni from last year’s Graduating Class return to volunteer in the Kids Zone at the Gala.
Parent Reps are another hard-working group of volunteers! Our Parent Reps donate their valuable time to make sure important classroom messages get to their parents in a timely manner.
And of course, all of our wonderful Parent Volunteers who donate their precious time to helping on field trips, driving students to sporting events, and sharing their energy and expertise in the classrooms. Volunteers add so much value to our programs and make things like volleyball games and trips to Kustermans possible! Please join us in sending out sincere gratitude to all the MA-Zing volunteers that have added so much value to our school community. Thank you, MA-zing volunteers!

Get planting with Plantables!

Mother’s Day is coming up in May! What about a Plantables delivery for Mom or Grandma this year? Proceeds from each plant sale support the school. Happy Planting!

Photos from the week

Toddlers in Piccadilly Park

Toddler 1 took advantage of the beautiful weather last week with a trip to Piccadilly Park!

Casa Parent-Child visits

We LOVE hosting visitors! Over the past week, all of our Casa classrooms had the pleasure of inviting parents in to visit. Every time we do, the children are so excited to show their parents what they’ve been working on. Thank you for making time in your days to participate in these very special events.

Westmount Casa reptile visitors! :-O

What a way to finish off our continent studies of both Africa and Australia. Yesterday, we welcomed Taren to our Westmount Casa class from Southwestern Pet Centre. She brought in some of her “special friends” to visit with the children. Lemon, the beautiful python was very popular amongst the class. Thank you for taking the time to teach us about these truly amazing creatures.

UE Montessori math materials

Our UE students learned about integers by using the Negative Snake Game.

JH Passover celebration

In recognition of the last day of Passover last week, our JH students made Matzo Toffee Bark.

MA in the Community!

Ella’s Kiwanis win

Because it’s a musical year, the school is not participating in the Kiwanis Music Festival as performers. But we are participating as a proud sponsor of this annual celebration of music this year! Some of our students are competing and performing with their extracurricular music, including LE2 student Ella!
From MA mom Violet: I wanted to share Ella’s achievement, she got awarded first in three classes under level 1 piano and will be competing in their trophy class in a few weeks!  Here’s her happy moment. 🙂

Congratulations, Ella!
