Montessori Buzz – Dec. 13, 2022

Dear MA Families & Friends,

Save the Date: Winter Concert in February

There is no Holiday Concert in December. Instead, we’ll host a Winter Concert on Friday, February 3, at 2 p.m. at the Forest City Community Church. More details will be shared in the Buzz and on classroom calendars closer to the date.

Progress Reports ready on Friday

December Progress Reports will be ready on Friday. Watch for an email with a link to the MA Parent Portal on Friday afternoon.

Sibling Applications

Applications to MA for siblings of current students are due by Friday, January 13, for the 2023-2024 School Year.  We continue to receive a high volume of applications for our Toddler and Casa programs, and would like to provide priority to our current MA families before new admissions are offered in March.
If you would like to submit an application for a child in your family, please login to the MA Parent Portal.  The online application can be found in the Resources section.  Offers of Admission for siblings of current students will be provided shortly after re-enrolment closes in February.  Please feel free to contact Victoria with any questions: or 519-433-9121 ext. 211.

Photos from the week…

Toddler 1 Open Class

Thank you to our families who joined us in Toddler 1’s classroom last week. The children were so excited to show their parents and loved ones what they’ve been working on!

Hanukkah – latkes

In Toddler 2 we are learning about winter celebrations. On Friday, we concluded our week of Hanukkah learning with latkes (potatoes pancakes) and applesauce. Our reaction “more please!”

Practical Life Skills in action!

It’s just absolutely lovely to see how independent Casa 2 students are. Spill or dirt on the floor… no problem. The students independently take care of it without prompting. We want to thank Olivia P.’s family for donating an extra cleaning set. It’s being used all the time!

Mindful movement in Casa

Waterloo Casa enjoyed a beautiful yoga and meditation class at the gym on Friday.

Lower El Timeline of Life

Some of Lower El 2’s student are working on the Timeline of Life.

Lower El division

Division progression in LE1: some of our Year 3 students using the racks and tubes.

UE Culture fun

Lots of culture fun in UE1! Bouncy balls for chemistry and layers of the Earth models.
