PJ Day tally!
Thank you to all who supported our Pajama Day event. We finally have sorted, rolled and tallied the loose change that was contributed. We are happy to announce the grand total of $1776.75 – which will be donated to Children’s Health Foundation in support of the Children’s Hospital.
Thank you, student teachers!
We thank ALL of our student teachers who completed their work placements last week!
Casa 3 has enjoyed having student teacher Jason visit our classroom over the past few weeks. Jason is currently in his final year of teacher’s college. He has been a wonderful asset to the classroom and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours!
Waterloo Casa has enjoyed playing instruments and singing Christmas carols with our student teacher Andrew. A big thanks to Andrew for sharing his talent with us! His last day was Friday but Lesley said she wanted him to stay on forever! 🙂
Check out a video on Facebook of Andrew singing with the students:
Open Class at Westmount Toddler
The Westmount Toddler classroom opened its doors for our annual Family Holiday Singalong! Thank you to all who were able to attend and join us in the festivities, fun, and special time together. Happy holidays from the Westmount Toddlers!
Guest speaker in Casa 3
Casa 3 would like to thank Susie (Max’s Mom) for coming in and providing a lovely lesson on Hannukah! She shared some of the history behind this holiday, brought in some tasty treats, and read a lovely story to the children. Thank you so much Susie!
What’s happening in the Art Room?
Over the last few weeks, our Elementary students have been using their art skills to create Winter Wonderland murals for each of the classrooms. Drop by your child’s classroom to have a peek!
Medicine Wheel in Lower Elementary
The stunning Medicine wheel that the Lower Elementary students made with Metis artist Brenda has been installed! You can find it right outside of the Lower Elementary Junior 3 classroom. The piece is placed low on the wall to allow the children to look closely at it, touch it and reflect inwardly about the lesson Brenda shared with them. Next time you’re at 711 Waterloo, we invite you to stop by and take a closer look.
Family Skate skating fun!
Thank you to all the family members who joined us on the ice last Thursday as part of our annual Elementary and Junior High Family Skate. It is so heartwarming to see the older students help their younger peers learn and practise their skating skills. What a beautiful school community we have!
Junior 3 cookie baking
On Friday, Sarah (Calvin’s mom) came into Junior 3 to decorate cookies. It is a family tradition in their household, and they wanted to share this with us. Here are some photos from our fun filled morning!
Still time to donate!
You still have time to make a charitable contribution to Montessori Academy of London and get a tax receipt for 2018. Submit donations to the Administration Office by Thursday, Dec. 20 (Friday is a PD Day!!), or donate online through our secure site to make your mark before the end of the year.
And with your donation, don’t forget to colour in your leaf to help our maple tree grow fuller!
Our Annual Appeal continues until June 30, 2019; donations made to our Special Project fund support upgrades the Junior High kitchens.
