ME to WE service trip to Ecuador

This Friday, 15 representatives from the school made up of parents, students, and two staff, are heading to Ecuador to volunteer their time with the ME to WE organization. This is the fourth time the school has participated in this service trip to Ecuador. The trip will entail many things! It starts off with a day sightseeing in the beautiful city of Quito; the following day, the group takes a long bus ride down to the Amazon Rainforest where the team will spend the duration of their 10-day trip.

Not only will the team work each morning on a construction project in a local village (they don’t know what they’ll be building yet), they will also have the opportunity to participate in cultural activities such as visiting a local cacao farm and testing out chocolate, spending time with a local family learning of their daily challenges, going on a night hike in the jungle, taking part in a traditional cooking class of local delicacies, and meeting up with the local women’s artisanal group to make bracelets. We look forward to the exciting stories they will have to share with us when they get back!

Casa 3 Valentine’s Week!

Last week, Casa 3 learned about mail delivery. Since Valentine’s Day was Friday, our senior students took a sunny stroll on Wednesday morning to the local post office to mail their Valentines! Back in their classroom on Friday the students picked out and read their special valentines messages from their classmates.
