Montessori Buzz – Feb. 2, 2021
Dear MA Families & Friends,
Increasing classroom experience for the year
We are in the process of determining how we can increase our students’ time in the classroom in the months ahead. This is to help support the loss of the experience with the materials and time interacting within our learning environments, since school was happening at home with the delayed January start. Details will be share with families as soon as they are confirmed.
Re-Enrolment for 2021-2022
Re-Enrolment for September 2021 opened to our current families last week on Friday. Our re-enrolment message to MA families and full instructions on how to complete re-enrolment can be found through this link: 2021-2022 Re-Enrolment Letter – FINAL.pdf.As a reminder, the following items must be completed/submitted to the Main Office by Friday, February 12 to secure your child’s place for the upcoming school year:

Per our note last week about issues with Moving Up emails going to Junk mail folders, if you have not received emails from the Admin team over the past few weeks, please be sure to:
- Check your Junk / Spam folder.
- Add our emails (from @montessori.on.ca), to your address book or safe senders list to prevent the misdirection of Admin Staff emails from us in the future.
Staffing Announcement
Art Teacher Jenn Neron and her family have been given a fantastic opportunity that will take them to the west coast this summer and therefore she will not be returning to MA once the school year is over. Her husband, Mike, has taken a new position with BMO and it is based out of Calgary. Although we are saddened by this news, we are also very excited for Jenn and this new adventure.
We will post the Art teacher opportunity in the spring.
Seeking Elementary Yard Staff lunchtimes

Last week the Westmount Toddlers painted with ice cubes and merged the colours to create the “northern lights” with fantastic results!
Waterloo Casa snowy fun
Our Waterloo Casa students have a question for you: Who doesn’t love a snowy January day?
Waterloo Casa: Thank you, donors!
Waterloo Casa wanted to thank the many donors who have given to the school’s Programs Fund! This fund allows MA to purchase new materials for our classroom. This year Casa Waterloo was able to use some of the funds to purchase new yoga mats. This is one of the many innovative ways we are able to use Program donations to augment our classrooms!
In Waterloo Casa, we have been perfecting our yoga practice, self-regulation and meditation every Friday for the last 5 months. The children were so happy to walk into the classroom after playtime to see the new child sized yoga mats in our “yoga studio”!
Year 3 – Cnidaria diorama
Sofia’s project on Cnidaria is a diorama! The Year Threes are learning about Invertebrates.
