Montessori Buzz – Feb. 2, 2022
Dear MA Families & Friends,
Early/Extended Hours program update
Effective tomorrow, we will offer Early Hours starting at 7:30 a.m. However, we still need to end extended care at 5 p.m.; and we are not yet able to offer occasional use of the Toddler & Casa Extended Hours program. We hope that we’ll be able to offer our regular Extended Hours programming after March Break.
Junior High parents: you will be contacted directly by Shawn Butler about Extended Hours for your children.
Travel rules updates
We just received an update that effective February 28, there will be an easing of on-arrival testing for fully vaccinated travelers.
Children under 12 years old, who are travelling with fully vaccinated adults will no longer need to wait 14 days after their return before attending school or daycare. Travellers will now have the option of using a COVID-19 rapid antigen test result or a molecular test result to meet pre-entry requirements. Unvaccinated travellers will continue to be required to be tested on arrival, then again on the eighth day following their return, and quarantine for 14 days. The Government of Canada will adjust its Travel Health Notice from a Level 3 to a Level 2. (At Level 2, the Government will no longer recommend that Canadians avoid travel for non-essential purposes.)
Save the Date: Beach Day is March 4
Save the date – and some spare change – for our annual Beach Day CHF Event on Friday, March 4. Students in Toddler through Upper Elementary are invited to wear fun beach attire and bring in loose change to donate to the Children’s Health Foundation. The Junior High students have chosen to wear their favourtie teams’ jerseys on that day.
Camp Discovery opens to MA Families on Friday, Feb. 25!
We’re opening registration for Camp Discovery Adventurers and Camp Discovery Explorers to MA families this Friday, Feb. 25, at 9 a.m. Register online:
