Dear MA Families & Friends,
Reminder: Register by June 30 for Extended Hours
Please submit your annual registration online for Extended Hours for September 2023 before June 30 to reserve your place: https://montessoriacademy.campbrainregistration.com/

Friends and extended family – Buzz permission

If you are an extended family member or friend of the school, please email Linda, Communications Director at lyovanovich@montessori.on.ca, or reply to this Buzz to provide permission to be added to the 2023-2024 Buzz list. This will help the school comply with CASL (Canadian anti-spam legislation).

FYI: If you are a current parent and re-enroling your child, no action is required; you’ll be added to the Buzz list automatically as long as your current email is listed in your Contact Card on the Parent Portal. Thanks.

Congratulations to our students who are moving up!

This week, we will celebrate our senior students at each level with Moving Up celebrations
Yesterday, our Year 6 students received their certificates in the Elementary Courtyard. Congratulations to all of you, and good luck next year in Junior High!

Where in the world is Montessori Academy?

Will and Clara recently visited Antoni Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain!

Reminder: we want to tag along!

If you travel this summer and take some MA gym wear or spirit wear with you, take a picture, tag the school on social media, or send it to Linda: lyovanovich@montessori.on.ca. We’d love to share Where in the World MA is with our friends and followers!

Photos from the week

Jack’s bean stalks and more!

Jack, a senior Casa student at Westmount, has been working really hard to grow his Plantables and beans from the year-end field trip to Kusterman’s, and wanted to share the progress! Jack checks on his plants everyday and loves watching them grow. He is very excited to see the sunflower’s bright colours and to eat the cucumbers! Clockwise from top left: 3 cucumber plants from Plantables, 2 bean sprouts (of course!) from Kustermans, and 1 firecracker sunflower from Plantables with the two bean sprouts. Thanks for sharing the progress with us, Jack!

Casa 1 cylinders and concentration

So much determination and concentration — and a spontaneous audience! — as our Casa student places the smallest cylinder on top! :-O

Waterloo Casa butterfly lessons

Butterflies lessons in Waterloo Casa came to a bittersweet culmination as the students released their friends on Friday.

Lower El 1

It’s Gratitude month in Lower Elementary 1. The students have focused on the virtue “gratitude” and  created great skits on this theme to present to their friends.

Gaia!

The Lower Elementary students spent the day in Exeter at The Gaia Exhibit.

Rhubarb lemonade

UE2 are making rhubarb lemonade! Gage enjoyed shocking everyone with the size!

Junior High’s visit from Barb!

Long-time MA teacher Barb Gerber, who retired a few years ago after 30+ years with the school, came to Junior High recently to have lunch with some of her Casa students… lots of stories and reminiscing!
