Montessori Buzz – June 15, 2021
Dear MA Families & Friends,
Friendly reminder: Last day of school/PD Day update
As noted in Friday’s message from Tina, we’ve re-instated our PD Day on Friday, June 25, at all levels of the school. The last day of lessons for students – online and in person – is Thursday, June 24. The teachers will begin their Faculty Work Week on that Friday.
Heads up: Summer Hours 2021
The school will be closed on Canada Day and Friday, July 2. Starting Monday, July 5, the school’s Summer Office Hours will be Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m-12:30 p.m.
The Office will be closed for the week of July 12-16, and on Monday, August 2, for the Civic Holiday.
Camp Discovery Adventurers and Explorers starts on Monday, July 5, and will be closed on Monday, August 2, for the Civic Holiday.
Gym Wear orders
For students in Elementary and Junior High, please complete this link: Montessori Academy Gym Wear Flyer JUNE 2021.pdf Gym Wear Form and return to Tameka at tbrown@montessori.on.ca on or before July 2. Reminder: we now accept cash, cheque, Debit, MasterCard, Visa, Amex or Apple Pay.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are not able to have samples set up in the main office as usual. Because of this, we are asking that parents of returning students gauge their child’s size by the set of gym wear worn in the last school year.
For our Casa students who are entering Elementary in September, families can meet Tameka at the Main Office on Monday, June 21 between 8:30-4:15pm to choose from sizes that she will have available. To adhere to physical distancing measures, only two persons will be allowed in the office at a time.
Find a PDF of the form through this link: Montessori Academy Gym Wear Flyer JUNE 2021.pdf

Celebrating Casa 1 senior students!
Year-end celebrations have BEGUN! Congratulations to our Casa 1 Seniors!
Casa 2 butterflies released
There’s been lots of excitement in Casa 2 recently… Our monarch butterflies hatched from their chrysalis, pumped up and dried their wings, and were ready to be released! It was very moving to see them fly into the natural environment. Big thank you to Crosby’s family for donating the pupae to us.
Casa 3 love messages for #OurLondonFamily and the WORLD!
On Wednesday morning, Oxford Casa had some special messages that they took outside to share with the world!

Westmount Casa Bubble Day
Yay! Westmount Casa’s Bubble Day was a success! In light of recent events, we think this quote is one to live by: “Surround everyone you can think of with Bubbles of Love.”
Westmount Red Shirts
We took a few pictures Monday on our last Red Shirt Day for the 2020-2021 school year! This was completely organized by our families! We are thankful to have such a supportive and loving school community!
Year 2 artwork
Jenn (hidden behind a beet) and the Year 2 students created gardens with their favourite veggies. The exercise was creating an image of something Above and Below.
LE3 – Phases of the Moon
Clara had lots of fun recreating the phases of the moon out of Oreo cookies.
