Montessori Buzz – May 2, 2023
Dear MA Families & Friends,
Musical: ‘Annie Jr.’ is just 2 WEEKS away!!
The students and faculty have been working around the clock to bring ‘Annie Jr.’ to the stage in a special musical production and cannot wait for you to see it! Buy your tickets online today to make sure you get a great seat! https://montessori.on.ca/musical/
Heads-up: No cameras policy
Because we want our audience to be present and enjoy the show, we’ve arranged to have a professional photographer capture the performance. Still photos of the performance will be made available online for parents to download as soon as they’re ready.
As well, MA parent, Melissa Schenk has very generously donated her videography team to record the musical for us, and will make a link to the video available after post-production! Thank you, MS2 Productions for your support as a Gold Sponsor AND donating your team’s time and expertise in capturing the show!

Thank you, Investia – Gold Sponsor
Welcome back Investia Financial Services! Our long-time supporter Andrew Martens is joining the musical as a Gold Sponsor! We cannot thank you enough for helping make this production possible and allowing our students this incredible theatre experience. Thanks to your ongoing support of the Arts at Montessori Academy of London – we can continue enhancing our Arts programs with these types of events for our students.

Board recruitment: Community Member
One of our Community Members on the board has enrolled their child in the school and is now considered a Parent Member of the Board. With this exciting change, our volunteer Board of Governors now seeks a new Community Member to join its ranks. A “community member” is an individual from the greater London area who can provide expert advice and an outside perspective to the Board of Governors. If you know of anyone who interested in supporting. Find full details on our website and share with anyone in your networks: https://montessori.on.ca/new-community-board-member/
Photos from the Week
Westmount Casa’s Family Eid Celebration
Thank you to all of the families who came out to join our Westmount Casa last week for our very first Eid Celebration! The crescent moon was seen by millions of people all over the world, and it signified the end of Ramadan for many! So, we celebrated!

Casa 1 Social
Casa 1 was so excited to host their families for our Family Breakfast Social, Friday morning. The children used their Practical Life skills to prepare for their guests; there was scrubbing chairs, moving tables and adding table cloths, mixing and baking muffins, flower arranging and learning what it means to “host someone.” The children displayed lovely grace and courtesy, serving their families and ensuring they had a lovely time in their classroom. They even sang and signed a sweet song of thanks:
“Thanks for my mom and dad/ Rainbows that make me glad/
Thanks for my family/ And for a climbing tree/
Thanks so much but especially thanks for me!”

Casa 3 Australia study
Casa 3 wrapped up their study of Australia this week by making Pavlova. YUM!

Lower El Heritage Potluck Lunch
We are so happy to be able to have our community come together in person again this year. Our Heritage Potluck Lunch last Thursday was a great time as families brought in foods from their family backgrounds to share among all three classrooms.

UE ALIVE Outdoors Video premiere
The Upper El ALIVE Outdoor trip movie premier was Thursday! Big thanks to JH teacher Shawn for working his magic, making a fantastic video of this transformative trip.

Alumni visitors!
MA had a handful of grads pop by last week, including this group of fine gentlemen. The relationships formed during their time at our school last into adulthood.
