Urgent messaging test check in…

Did you receive the school’s test message via text and email on Thursday morning? If you did not, we ask you to double check your junk/spam email folder and the information in your Contact Card via the MA Parent Portal. You can also make any adjustments to how you wish to receive the information.

We have noted through our testing that SMS/Text is quicker and more consistent than email.

Artisan Bazaar: Last call for vendors

We still have a few spots open for our Artisan Bazaar on Saturday, November 23.  Are you an artisan looking to sell your wares? Have a friend or family member that might be interested?

There is a $40 table registration fee and small donation to our door prizes.  The event hosted approximately 150 people when we held it in the summer and with the draw of the upcoming holiday shopping season, we expect to do better this time around! Our own Junior High students will also be flexing their entrepreneurial muscles in designated spaces for their creations.  They will also host a hot chocolate bar with tasty syrups, marshmallows and candy canes! Please contact Melissa Parker at mparker@montessori.on.ca if you’re interested in taking part in our 2nd Artisan Bazaar!

Budding Artists Deadline: Nov. 11

Don’t forget that the deadline for Budding Artists is this coming Monday, November 11! This is a wonderful opportunity to capture the imagination of your child at this point on their Montessori journey. Use the art code in the top right corner of your form to order online at http://buddingartists.ca

Battery Club in UE

Upper Elementary has started a battery club. The battery club is where we recycle batteries, and compete with other schools across Ontario to recycle the most batteries. This club was made so that we can recycle our batteries instead of putting them in the trash, because if we recycle our batteries, not a single piece of the battery will go to waste, and we are saving the planet.

If you have used batteries at home, you can bring them into school to the front office to recycle. Put tape over the ends of 6V and 9V batteries to prevent fire and put them in the bin! The challenge lasts until April 22.

Also, if you would like, you can sign onto the website called Ontario School Battery Recycling Challenge and start your mission and become an ultimate battery boss.
A family uses over 100 batteries a year so start recycling your batteries and make a difference and save our planet from getting covered in the landfill.
Thank You!
Cameron, Gabrielle and Adeleine

Casa 4 Halloween photos

The children of Casa Four had a lovely celebration on Halloween.  They were very excited to share their costumes with their friends and partake in the different activities of the day.  It was a great opportunity for a class “show and share”. Take a look through their individual costumes in our Halloween 2019 photo album

Speaking of Halloween…

The students and staff definitely embraced the Halloween spirit this year. Check out the album of photos from all levels of the school: Halloween 2019 photo album.

Westmount Toddler autumn activities

The Toddlers at Westmount took advantage of all the wonderful things that Autumn has to offer – raking leaves, playing with pumpkins, hammering pumpkins, making apple sauce, carving pumpkin and, of course, dressing up for Halloween.  Happy autumn, everyone!
