What’s for Dinner?! – Holiday edition

“What’s for Dinner?!” is a frozen meal pick-up event in partnership with Growing Chefs’ Ontario.  Montessori Academy of London and Growing Chefs’ Ontario have partnered to bring your child’s favourite hot lunch meals home for dinner. This year’s Holiday Special is a Gingerbread Cookie Dough Kit, with everything required to bake and build your own gingerbread house! The top selling Lasagna and Butter Chicken are also back!
Each Order is a Family Serving Size of 4 to 5 People. Orders sell out quickly! Order online before November 18, then pick up a frozen, family sized meal at Growing Chefs on December 1. This popular fundraising initiative benefits both Montessori Academy of London and Growing Chefs’ Ontario… as well as busy parents who would enjoy a night off from meal planning.

Annual Report 2021-2022

Our Annual Report is live on our school website: https://montessori.on.ca/annual-report/ We encourage you to take a read through it for an overview of the past year’s activities, including our Financial Report and Development update. There was so much to be grateful for last year as we returned to an almost-normal school year; and we celebrate the resilience and vitality of our school community.

Save the date: PJ Day is Nov. 25

Our first Children’s Health Foundation Charitable Giving event is coming up! Every year our school supports the Children’s Health Foundation as our local charity. Throughout the year we emphasize the importance of ‘children helping children’ and that no matter how small a contribution, when we as a school work together, the amount of money we raise is quite admirable. Families are invited to donate spare change on PJ Day, and students can wear their comfy pyjamas.

Save the date: 55th Anniversary Gala is Feb. 25

Plan to join us for The MA-zing Circus – 55th Anniversary Gala on February 25. This is an all ages event! Keep an eye on the Buzz for our early bird ticket sales. https://montessori.on.ca/gala/

They have sent along pictures of the cats enjoying some of the gifts.

The Senior Basketball regular season is wrapping up this week. Both teams play their final games and await a first round opponent in the playoffs. After some early jitters, the teams made excellent progress throughout the season. Good luck in the playoffs!
Last week some students in Upper Elementary took part in a one-day Soccer tournament at the BMO Centre. The students who were interested in participating were divided into teams at school and competed in a mini soccer tournament over playtime, the winning teams advanced to the out of school tournament. The girls’ team played on Tuesday and the boys went on Wednesday. Both teams worked very hard and had a great time competing against other schools. Congratulations to both squads!

Next up in December is Intramural Volleyball.

JH movie with parents on Friday

Last week, Junior High invited our parents to a screening of a video about the Alive trip in September. It was great to connect with the parent community. Our guests enjoyed coffee from YOU and homemade apple spice muffins made by the JH students!

What a treat to relive our ALIVE Trip by watching the movie together.
