RemindersPD Day on Friday and Holiday MondayHappy Thanksgiving to all of our families and friends! Friday is a PD Day; there is no school for our students. On Monday the school is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. Have a wonderful long weekend. 🙂
Casa AND Toddler Picture Days next week
FYI: Picture retake day is November 4.
(EDIT: updated since the Buzz was sent to include Toddler in title.)
Report absences/lateness by phoneTo report absences, early/late pick-up, or other messages to your child/ren’s teachers, please call the school and leave a message for the classroom. All class extensions can be found at the back of your Year at a Glance Calendar (PDF). (TIP: Save this PDF on your mobile device for quick access.)
If it is before or after school hours, you can dial the class extension to go straight to their voicemail. If it is during school hours, you will be forwarded to the classroom or their voicemail, if the teachers aren’t able to pick up. Reception is not responsible for forwarding emails to teachers; please call the school directly.
Join us on the Journey to DiscoveryOffered every three years, the Journey to Discovery has been a transformative experience for our parents. This engaging hands-on activity presents the spectrum of traditional Montessori work to parents – taking you on an abbreviated version of your child’s Montessori journey from Toddler through Junior High.
We invite families who have not gone on the Journey to join us this year for this two-day event in November. Please note that attendance on both Friday night and Saturday morning is required.
Space is very limited – maximum of 2 people per family. Halloween Boo-Ling – Only 15 tickets left! This is going to be our biggest Halloween bowling event yet! We are almost sold out of tickets. There are only 15 tickets left for the 6:40pm bowling time. The party starts at 5pm in the large party room – if you’re bowling at 6:40pm there will still be lots to do starting at 5pm! Join us for pizza, games, the arcade, ping pong and socializing in the Ping Pong room (across from the arcade). Purchase your tickets online montessori.on.ca/halloween

Photos from the weekOrange Shirt DayOur Junior High students visited their younger peers throughout the day to read to the students and guide lessons on Orange Shirt Day. The Pink Tower in Casa 2Wolfe from Casa 2 loves working with the pink tower. The work helps the students develop visual and muscular perception of dimensions. In this photo, Wolfe is moving the smallest pink tower cube around the ledges of each cube, which helps him to understand the size difference between the cubes (the difference is 1 cm).
Casa 3 food preparationA student in Casa 3 was so excited to have a lesson on food preparation!! Here he is spreading some jam on crackers that he will share with a friend! Not only is he learning how to safely handle food, but it is also a lesson on grace and courtesy.
Terry Fox RunThank you to the parents who joined us for the Terry Fox Run in Piccadilly Park on Wednesday. The rain held off and while it was cool out, the positive energy and support for all our runners warmed our hearts.
