Montessori Buzz – Sept 5, 2023
Dear MA Families & Friends,
A message from our PrincipalWelcome Back!I hope that everyone had a relaxing, fun-filled summer with their family and friends. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome both returning and new families to what I feel is the most amazing place to be – our School!! This year we are looking forward to all the amazing things we have planned. From our fall classroom events and family movie night, Journey to Discovery, the Winter Concert in December, Spring Assembly in April, Art Expo in May and our year-end school-wide get together at Storybook Gardens, just to name a few. This Buzz, which is emailed to you on Tuesdays, carries a wealth of information about what is currently happening in the school. Also, check the MA Parent Portal at the beginning of each month as it contains details of what is going on in your child’s specific location and class. Your child’s teachers are your main go-to people for any information. Our teachers are committed to your children and to you, the parents, and I know from years of experience that the relationships established with the teachers, children and parents last a lifetime. I would like to thank the Parent Reps for the upcoming work they will be doing to support the teachers and parents. You will get to know them very soon for your child’s class. The parent reps’ main responsibility is supporting the classroom teachers in delivering important messages to you, so watch for emails from them.
I hope that you hear some great stories from your child today about their first day back at school! As well, please know that my door is always open and I am looking forward to reconnecting with current families and meeting our new ones.
Warmest regards,
Kristen Crouse, Principal

Reminder: Chaperones & volunteeringIf you would like to volunteer to attend a field trip in Casa or help out with Elementary throughout the year, you will need to have a valid police check on record with us.

Year at a Glance Calendar (YAAG)Watch for your printed YAAG calendar coming home this week. The tabbed section includes important parent information that we will refer to throughout the year, including policies and a staff directory on the back page. A school-wide calendar is also available on the Portal and on the school’s website – https://montessori.on.ca/calendar/
We suggest bookmarking either the PDF of the YAAG or the link to the Portal on your device for quick reference. Classroom-specific calendars of activities will be posted on your child’s class page by the first of each month.

Labelling your child’s items – no matter what age – helps students retrieve lost items – and helps us identify who the lost and found items belong to. Any method of labelling is effective. If you order from Mabel’s Labels the school receives a portion of the sale as a donation! Visit campaigns.mabelslabels.com or https://mabelslabels.ca/en_CA/fundraising/support/ and search for “Montessori Academy of London”.
