Montessori Buzz – September 7, 2021

Dear MA Families & Friends,

A Message from Kristen

Welcome Back!

I hope that everyone had a relaxing, fun-filled summer with their families. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome both returning and new families to what I feel is the most amazing place to be! Our School!!

Although we still may not be able to do all of the activities and events that we used to be able to do, we are hopeful that some activities may begin again. Stay tuned for our weekly Buzz parent newsletter, your child’s classroom calendars, and monthly letters on the classroom bulletin boards on the MA Parent Portal for updates. You will also receive a printed Year at a Glance calendar this week.

Your child’s teachers are the main people to look to for any information; they are full of knowledge and know best how the day-to-day activities run within their classrooms. Our teachers are committed to your children and to you, the parents, and I know the relationships that are established among you all will last a lifetime.

I would also like to thank your child’s class parent reps, whom you will get to know throughout the school year. They will support the classroom teachers and admin team in delivering important messages to you concerning events or any other interesting information.

Please know that my door is always open, and I am looking forward to reconnecting with current families and meeting our new ones.

Warmest regards,
Kristen Crouse, Academic Director

Welcome (back), Brooke!

We are very excited to share with you that Brooke Goad will be joining Susan Donaghy and Carroll Spence in our Upper Elementary 1 classroom. Brooke worked in our Upper Elementary program over 20 years ago, and coincidentally with Carroll. Brooke has been working at a Montessori school in Kitchener as an Upper Elementary teacher and part time admissions coordinator. We are very lucky to have her join our team and she is eager to join our school again!

We know that Brooke will be a great addition to the entire Upper Elementary team, joining Kendra Costa, Roxanne Gianelli, and Savannah Jacobs, along with Susan and Carroll.

Reminders

Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation as we returned to a version of “normal” at school.

1. Daily screening alerts and links

Parents and staff will receive a SMS/text message daily for the first two weeks of school (and possibly longer). Please ensure you complete the Google Screening Form by 7:45am each morning for each child’s classroom. Please ensure that you are signing your child/ren in to the correct classrooms each morning. If you are unsure of the class, please call the Main Office to find out. We strongly suggest bookmarking or saving each classroom’s form for daily screening.

2. Self-Screening Links by classroom

Please see the MA Parent Portal for links to your child’s screening form.

Thank you for following the protocols and processes in place this year to help ensure a safe and happy learning environment for our students this year!

3. Office Hours for 2021-2022

With our new school hours, we’re also shifting our office hours to 8:15 am – 4:00 pm Monday-Friday.
