Montessori Spiral CurriculumPrograms

Traditional Montessori education provides children a carefully planned, stimulating environment that helps them develop an excellent foundation for learning and leadership. As one of the premier Montessori schools in Canada, we proudly offer an accredited, traditional Montessori program for Toddlers, Casa/Preschool, Elementary and Junior High students that is augmented with a rich and unique Specialties Program that includes Art, Physical Education, French and Music. Extracurriculars such as Athletics, Choir, Community Involvement and Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) give our students even more opportunities for social, physical and intellectual development.

Montessori education is ultimately about “real” life; about helping children develop into confident, successful, caring adults who will become valuable members of their community. As educators, we strive to provide our children with the strongest possible foundation from which to grow and develop; that’s where the Foundations of Learning approach comes into play.

Foundations of Learning

The early years of education are critical to developing the skills and habits associated with learning that will serve children throughout their lives. At these early levels, much of the Montessori classroom and material design, program activities and teaching approach are deliberately designed not only to teach “things”, but also to teach children how to learn, and to love learning.

Foundations of Leadership

At age nine, children typically have mastered the basics of their senses and developed a keen desire to understand not just the “what’s” of the world, but the “how’s” and “why’s” as well. Their interest in activity for the sake of activity dissipates as they become engrossed in a greater need for understanding, and a greater sense of morality. From a curriculum standpoint, they have developed to the stage where they are able to work with complex principles and theories in the abstract. From a personal development standpoint, they are beginning to search for their place in the world, which leads to them to Foundations of Leadership.
