Micro-economy sale at the Winter Concert

Junior High is happy to announce that this year’s Micro Economy Winter Sale will be one of the biggest ever! This year we are introducing brand-new 3D printed keychains representing famous Montessori materials (the Trinomial Cube and Pink Tower) that we designed and printed ourselves! We will also have other merchandise like Tote Bags, Pencil Cases, Scrunchies, and much more. Our products are handcrafted or designed by our very own Junior High student community and branded with reminders to Be Present and Live in the Moment.

*Bring cash for Micro Economy purchases at the winter concert in the lobby, e-transfers also accepted.*

What is Micro Economy?

Maria Montessori believed that creating goods and selling them is a very valuable skill for adolescents to learn and will help them grow. Micro Economy is a student-run business in Junior High where students; hand-craft and heat press various products, upcycle preloved items, and 3D print cool stuff. Our students then organize the produced items, set prices, and get ready for big sales at events like the school musical, winter concert, Art Expo, and more. Thanks for your support! Much love to all of you!

Friday is a PD Day

There is no school for our students.

Reminder: Re-enrolment deadline is next Friday

Please ensure you complete the needed forms in the MA Parent Portal by Friday, Feb. 13 if you wish to secure your child’s spot next school year. Reach out to Jennifer Rayman, Registrar, if you have any questions: jrayman@montessori.on.ca.

Blaze the Trail: We are so close to the halfway mark!

Thanks to a tremendous matching gift from a generous donor’s company (who wishes to remain anonymous), we’ve now reached $29,000 of our goal!

Did you know that many employers will match your donation? It’s an easy way to double — and sometimes even triple — your impact.

This week’s homework assignment: Check if your employer offers a matching gift program!

Thanks to the generosity of this family and their employer, the combined gift made up 10% of our total goal — an amazing boost for our gym floor!

We are $1,000 away from the halfway mark. Can we make it to 50% by next week?  Montessori.on.ca/blaze-the-trail

Lisette is a 2026 Juno nominee!

Our Lower Elementary Music Teacher, Lisette St. Louis, is nominated for a 2026 Juno (Children’s Album of the Year) for her work with the group Hip Kids Music. The album is titled Hip Kids Music, Vol. 1, and it teaches children about music through jazz, swing and blues. Good luck, Hip Kids Music! Here’s the CBC’s full list of Juno nominees.

Focus in the Infant loft

Our winter session of parent and baby classes are in full swing. And we’re witnessing that even our littlest learners can develop deep concentration when given the right environment and tools to learn and grow.
