Dear MA Families,

Elementary and Junior High Year-end Concert is Wednesday

Elementary and Junior High students will be dismissed directly from The Academy Circus unless they are already registered for After-School Extended Hours that day. Due to the limited parking on site, families are encouraged to carpool if possible.

Blaze the Trail Campaign: A True Community Effort

Did you hear? We met our fundraising goal for a new gym floor!

Not only are we getting a new gym floor, but we’re also able to install protective wall padding — thanks to a generous $11,000 grant from the Walter J. Blackburn Foundation. This addition will significantly enhance safety for everyone using the space.

Thank you, Walter J. Blackburn Foundation, for your support!

This new gym is truly a community effort — made possible by you, the Walter J. Blackburn Foundation, and our partners at Colborne St. United Church. Together, you are helping create an incredible, safe, and vibrant recreational space for our students.

We are so grateful — thank you!

Track & Field

Congratulations to all of our UE and Junior High track and field athletes that competed in the Independent School track meet at Jean Paul II. It was a wonderful day and we saw many personal bests. We are still awaiting the final results and will share as soon as we know.

Junior High Soccer

Some of our Junior High students took part in a soccer tournament at North London Soccer Fields. They played in 4 mini games and then a playoff round. Thank you to all the athletes that took part and the parents for cheering us on.

*Please return any JERSEYS you may have at home.

Sunshine, bubbles and friends – what a perfect combination!

Who’s cutting onions?

This time of year is always bittersweet. One of our senior Casa 3 students added this note to their work.

Lower El 1 & 3 stepped out on Friday for a walking field trip to Buttercreme.

LE trip to Camp Kee-mo-Kee

“There is no description, no image in any book that is capable of replacing the sight of real trees, and all the life to be found around them, in a real forest. Something emanates from those trees which speaks to the soul, something no book, no museum is capable of giving.” Dr., Maria Montessori (Childhood to Adolescence)

UE Science Fair

Another successful Science Fair at the Colborne St. Gym. Congratulations to all of our researchers on their projects.

Special Visitor in JH

Esa Islam, who graduated in 2021, stopped by on Friday after an interview with the CBC. He spoke at the Junior High morning meeting about actions we need to take to stop hate and Islamophobia. #ourlondonfamily

Confederation debate

Our Junior High students wrapped up their learning by conducting independent research to deepen their understanding of how Confederation came to be. Each student created a summary highlighting a specific province’s perspective, including its reasons for supporting or opposing joining Confederation.

Using these insights, students took part in a mock debate, where they represented a range of viewpoints and perspectives — including those of Indigenous peoples — bringing history to life through thoughtful discussion and collaboration.
