Our Artisan Market is Friday!

This Friday, swing by the gym right after you pick up your children from school! There will be 24 amazing local vendors selling handmade products, delicious baked goods, treats, coffee, and plants. Plus, we’ll have glitter tattoos and a used book sale!  www.montessori.on.ca/artisan-market/

Elementary Library Drop-in

Come see our newly renovated Elementary Library space! Let us know if you’re coming through the links below. Stay for 5 minutes, or stay for 50 minutes, it’s up to you!

Gym Wear orders for 2024-2025

For students in Elementary and Junior High, please complete the Montessori Academy Gym Wear PDF Form, and return it to Tameka at tbrown@montessori.on.ca on or before June 21.
Payment: we now accept cash, cheque, MasterCard, Visa, Amex, Apple Pay, or etransfer to payments@montessori.on.ca (note Gym Wear in the memo).
Tameka will have samples in the office until Tuesday, June 18. If you need to see sizes, please come to the office. Otherwise, you can select your child/ren’s sizes on the form: Montessori Academy Gym Wear Flyer MAY 2024.pdf

Register for Early & Extended Hours – 2024-2025

Annual registration for the Early & Extended Hours program is due by June 30; payment is due September 1.  Monthly registrations and payment are due no later than the 15th of the previous month (ie. Register for September by August 15). We cannot guarantee availability of space if registration is not received on time. Register online: https://montessoriacademy.campbrainregistration.com/ 
Early registration helps to support staffing ratios in our CCEYA licensed programs and assists the Site Supervisors to plan for the upcoming school year. Early registration is also appreciated at the Elementary level.

Discounted Factory passes

Save almost $20 on Rock All Day Factory Passes for sale at the Artisan Market this Friday!

A limited number of Rock All Day Passes will be on sale at the Artisan Market this Friday, May 31, 2024. Use any day of your choice before December 31, 2024. The Montessori Academy discounted pass price is $65 (Regular price $74.99 + Tax = $84.74).

The Community Match Challenge is coming to an end

The Board of Governors has challenged our community to match their generous $7,000 donation by the end of May! Thank you to everyone who has participated so far. Your donations will help with upkeep across the school – at all locations – this summer.
We are at 60% of our goal with only a few days until May 31. We need your help to reach our goal! Donate online at Montessori.on.ca/donate or by etransfer to payments@montessori.on.ca (note “donation” in the memo).

MA in the Community

Brynne’s big wins at the provincial championships

UE student Brynne was in Ottawa this past weekend for a big Artistic Swimming competition. She scored 1st in figures, 2nd in duet, 2nd in solo, and 7th in team at Ontario Provincial Championships. Congratulations, Brynne! 🙂

Westmount’s Big visitors

It’s the time of year when our graduates visit their past classrooms to gain some perspective on the journey they’ve made at our school. Westmount was thrilled to have their students return for this meaningful activity….

Australian Dot Art in Lower El 2

According to the Artlandish Aboriginal Art Gallery website, “Dot paintings are now internationally recognised [sic] as unique and integral to Australian Aboriginal Art.” Lower El 2 learned about this style of painting as part of their Australia Studies.

UE model ship

One of UE1’s students made this model ship as part of his Explorer study; he specifically studied Hernando de Soto. Look at the details on this ship! Bravo, Jack!

London Aviation Day is Friday

This Friday, May 31, BGC London and Aviation Partners are joining forces to plan an extraordinary and engaging event: London Aviation Day! It’s a fantastic opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the thrilling world of aviation, combining play, exploration, and learning in one day. We have packed the day with exciting activities from 10:00am to 2:00pm at multiple locations.

Artistic Swimming – Try Synchro events May 30 and June 4

Do you have a child between the ages of 5-10 who loves to dance, swim, and be creative? Artistic Swimming could be the perfect activity for them! London Regional Artistic Swimming Club is hosting a free “Try Synchro” night from 6:00-7:00pm on May 30th and June 4th at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre located at 1045 Wonderland Road North.
