Happy Earth Day!

Dr. Maria Montessori believed that spending time in nature was crucial to a child’s development. “The land is where our roots are,” she wrote. “The children must be taught to feel and live in harmony with the Earth.”

This exposure to the natural world supports not only the child’s sensory development, but their mental and physical health. She identified that “When children come in contact with nature, they reveal their strength.”
Today, we celebrate Earth Day with an emphasis on our power to make change and support the Earth.
