Montessori Buzz – March 4, 2025

Friday is Beach Day 

On Friday, March 7, it will be Beach Day for our Toddler, Casa, LE, and UE students, and Jersey Day for our Junior High students! Students are encouraged to wear beach-themed outfits, sunglasses and Hawaiian shirts! For our Junior High students, please wear a jersey of your favourite sport player, or wear your own! We will be raising money for CHF to help children navigate their time in the hospital and help them feel more comfortable. Please bring extra loose change to help support the Children’s Health Foundation!

March Break loading…

The school will be closed for the two-week March Break starting Monday, March 10. School resumes on Monday, March 24. Enjoy your two weeks of holidays!

Ukulele performance Sunday, April 6

Some of our UE students have been invited to collaborate with our friends at the Colborne St. United Church to perform at one of their COLBORNE LIVE concerts.

  • What:  COLBORNE LIVE PRESENTS: Minor Thirds with Sigstrings & Montessori Academy’s Ukulele Club Concert
  • Where: Colborne St. United Church – 711 Colborne St.
  • When: Sunday April 6th, 2-4 pm

Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day is Friday, May 30

After the break, we’ll send home 2 postcards per family to share with your grandparents and special friends. This year Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day is on the same day as our Artisan Market, so be sure to plan to stop by the Gym after dismissal to support some fantastic local vendors.

LE2 puppet performance!

On Friday, some LE2 students showcased their creativity and independence with a self-directed puppet show! They crafted their own props and practised a whole scene, embodying the Montessori spirit of hands-on learning. Bravo!

Provincial Election in Junior High 

“Student Vote uses the election as a teachable moment and enables teachers to bring democracy alive in the classroom. This hands-on learning program empowers students to experience the voting process firsthand and cast ballots for the official candidates running in the election.”

Elementary Music Teacher Lisette St. Louis just released a new kids’ album as part of Hip Kids Music. Hip Kids uses jazz to teach the fundamentals of music and inspire a love of music and movement in children. Find ‘Hip Kids Music Vol. 1’ on most streaming services.
