From the Remembrance Day Assembly
Video: The beautiful Senior Choir performance
The song was originally composed by Mrs. Shelley Murley, who is now the Vice Principal at Children of Integrity Montessori in B.C. Choir leader Tameka arranged the vocals and UE/JH music teacher Adam created the arrangement for the keys and the strings.
Tameka sent the video of the performance to Mrs. Murley, and she responded:
‘Thank you so much for taking the time to share your video with me! I often receive videos from choirs around the world singing my “Light a Candle for Peace” song, but my Remembrance Day song is lesser-known—so this was truly a special treat! I was absolutely blown away by your beautiful arrangement. The violins and harmonies were such a wonderful addition, and they brought such depth to the song. Please let your choir and orchestra know that they touched my heart deeply.’

Casa 3’s South America study – and special guest
During our study of South America, Casa 3 learned a lot about Brazil. We made Carnaval masks, learned how to dance the Samba and even had a special visitor from Elementary to tell us about her homeland! (The very special guest was LE1’s teacher Andressa!)
…and some very special guests visited Upper El!
Look who joined the UE Babysitter’s Certification lesson on Thursday! Lower El teacher Sarah and Toddler teacher Tiffany, and their wee ones, Mila and Tate, stopped by!
The Journey to Discovery
We welcomed 25 parents and our newest staff members on the Journey to Discovery Friday night. It was an inspiring, hands-on experience for our parents who were given a glimpse of a day in the life of their children. We were so thrilled to have so many parents join us.
And a huge thank you goes out to the teachers; this is a big undertaking and a long day for our MA-zing faculty who coordinated the classrooms and lessons.
Emilie helped close the Journey by leading the guests through a typical Junior High seminar on Friday.
Junior High Yoga
Earlier this week, the JH students began a yoga and mindfulness program called ‘Stretch and Shine’ run by ALIVE Outdoors instructor Adrienne. The theme was strength. We look forward to seeing her again for the next session on December 16th.
